Third round of Chicken Health 4 Development Fieldwork completed

Chicken Health 4 Development (CH4D) team

The teams, comprising staff and students from the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), The Ethiopian Institute for Agricultural Research (EIAR), University of Liverpool and Haramaya University, have completed a third successful round of field visits to farmers in Horro and Jarso woredas (districts) (April / May 2012). Farmers first recruited in November 2011 were revisited to find out the progress of their chickens, and 15 new households were sampled in each of the eight villages. The teams also hosted visitors from the UK – Prof. Peter Kaiser and Dr Lisa Rothwell from the Roslin institute, and two MSc students from the University of Liverpool also came for a taste of fieldwork.
