Sally Hutton, Emmanuel Sambo and Alex Harvey, three students undertaking their MScs in Veterinary Science, recently visited the ILRI-EIAR-Liverpool joint chicken health lab in Debre Zeit as part of their placement module.
This module enables the students to gain first hand experience of animal health and disease control practice and research. Whilst in Debre Zeit the students assisted in the laboratory, spent time at the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR), the National veterinary Institute, Addis Ababa Veterinary School, and two animal heath NGO’s: the Donkey Sanctuary and the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA).
In addition, the students each collected data that will be analysed for their MSc theses.
